Portfolio Optimization requires a centralized view of all major projects within the organization, viewing them as one portfolio being led by functional departments or business areas.  The trick is that these groups may have disparate requirements.  The goal is to optimize the value of all significant projects within the enterprise to deliver on the business strategy as a whole.

Reference Note: We use PDWare as a basis for resource and project data tracking as well as financial estimating. We then combine this information with our sales database to track the actual return on investment of the portfolio over time.We use this data to guide our decisions as we analyze our upcoming project opportunities.
