A project, program and portfolio management thought leader, Bill Stewart has over 30 years of leadership experience across a wide range of initiatives.  A former Infantry Captain, Aviator and Army Ranger, Bill developed dynamic and realistic experiential-based leadership training programs for the military, many of which are still in use today. He served as a program manager for President Reagan on the Grace Commission, a program to bring private sector business knowledge and efficiency to the public sector. 

Bill is a pioneer of the PMO concept and over the past 25 years, has successfully led EPMO and strategic execution excellence implementations for major corporations and organizations.  He founded Project Management Leadership Group in 1998 with the mission to help corporations rapidly transform to project, program and portfolio management excellence.  He created the Certified Project Manager (CPM) and ITCPM Boot Camp program, the world’s only experiential-based project management and leadership immersion training and certification program proven to rapidly mature both the project management and the leadership skills of attendees.  This program has become the internal project management certification program for many corporations and is a critical success factor in organizational transformation to strategic execution excellence.  He also created the Program and Portfolio Management (PPMC) advanced certification program.  Bill founded the International Program Office Summit in 2001, an annual networking and learning event for project, program and portfolio management professionals and executives.  A member of PMI for over 30 years, Bill served for seven years on the board of the Information Systems Specific Interest Group.

Bill is a popular speaker and presents internationally at project management and leadership symposiums and events. He has appeared as a guest speaker on Fox and CNBC.
